Recent work.

Recent uni work. I have been busy with a lot of course deadlines for little things so not had much time to develop my main studio project. time goes by so fast.
I made a poster for the staff research week. I was a response to all the text information that needed to be on it. Research leads to many possibilities and it often inter-links and overlaps to other areas so thats why I had lots of messy lines connecting. Plus I had to respresent the course a bit and have something experimental which is what th course is about. Plus simple contrasting colours make it easyily stand out in the sea of posters that are all over uni walls. It was a fairly positive outcome to a week of mistakes and events out of my control, like my original piece of work that I had planned got stolen which I talked about in the previous post so all in all it was good.

Reflection.

I guess there isn't any real reason for this post, it isn't creative, nor is it arty. However it made me laugh at the time and lets face it, we all need to laugh. This is easy for me to say in reflection to last week. Last week wasn't particularly good for me, but in the whole grand scheme of things it wasn't that bad. I spent the whole week trying to develop an idea for a poster that was showing people about the staff research week at my university. Things went wrong out of my control all week, it felt like swimming against the current but I suppose I need to get used to this feeling because I am pretty sure thats how it is in the industry. Then right at the end, to cap it all off, someone stole my work. I will show pictures tomorrow of what they stole, it has no real importance or value but I spent a whole week working on it, only to be left up shit creek with no raft or paddle. So I thought of an idea last minute and bashed it out on the mac. I made lots of errors with the information because I was panicing a bit. The tutors said they like it but I think they was trying to make me feel better. Anyways, I will put up those photos tomorrow about that piece of work and other stuff what I've been doing.
Below are photographs of what made me laugh and smile last week, so they are useful becons of my memories. So I can try to remember next time when things are going wrong that something positive can come from it and not to loose sight of it.

Here is phongo bongo being all serious about grapes. Working quietly at the end of my desk bless her.

Phil and Julie being silly in the studio. They had a mini water fight that I failed to capture on camera. It was bad timing.

Mark's guide to break dancing.
Don't forget at the end of your dance you have to act like a turtle upside down on ya back trying to get the right way up.

He actually looks quite cool on this one. hahaha go break dancing mark.

ARSE CHAIR

When facing a 2pm deadline for a project, have no fear. Drill stupid words in chairs with tutors.

Today was good, but a bit of a rush. We had to complie a small booklet together with previous and current work in for assesment. It was a bit fiddly but I had fun. Talk to lots of people on my course and the tutors. They was feeling a bit mis-chevious i think and asked me to drill my newly made font into a random chair knocking about in the studio. RARRR DRILLL!!!!
Then liz threaded it with some white thread. It was ace, I shall treasure that chair now. See below for the almighty arse chair in action.
